COPPER Queens coach Nora Häuptle has unveiled her squad for the upcoming international friendly matches against Malawi.
The two fixtures are billed for February 22 and 25, 2025, in Zambia.
Notable inclusions in the squad are Copper Princesses stars Mercy Chipasula and Mapalo Maluba, who will be representing Zambia in the matches.
However, Grace Chanda has been excused from the squad to play with her club, while Prisca Chilufya is absent as she finalises her transfer to Orlando Pride.
The squad will be led by experienced players Barbra Banda, Rachel Kundananji and Kabange Mupopo, who will bring their leadership and expertise to the team during the friendly encounters.
The full squad, which consists of 28 players, includes goalkeepers Mwila Chishala Mufunte, Ngambo Musole, Catherine Musonda and Annie Namonje.
Defenders called up for the matches are Margaret Belemu, Blessing Mapalo Maluba, Matildah Mukunda, Lushomo Mwemba, Martha Tembo, Memory Nthala, Esther Siamfuko, Judith Soko and Pauline Zulu.
Midfield options include Maweta Chilenga, Evarine Susan Katongo, Natasha Nanyangwe, Mercy Chipasula, Avell Chitundu, Fridah Mukoma, Ireen Lungu, Xiomara Marera, Abigail Munkombwe, Racheal Nachula and Ochumba Oseke Lubanji.
Meanwhile, the forwards are Barbra Banda, Racheal Kundananji, Penelope Mulubwa and Kabange Mupopo.
The upcoming friendlies against Malawi will serve as vital preparation for the Copper Queens as they continue their build-up toward future competitions.
