KANA have moved to the top of the Zambia Premier League with 33 points after trouncing Mutondo Stars 2-0 at Nkana Stadium yesterday. Idris Mbombo’s late brace in the 88th and 90th minutes secured the win for the Kitwe-based side, while Mutondo Stars remain in 14th place. In another exciting match, “Mighty” Mufulira Wanderers produced a dominant 4-1 victory over FC MUZA at Shinde Stadium in Mufulira. Charles Biyeta opened the scoring in the 47th minute, followed by Owen Mwamba’s goal in the 68th. Joseph Mumbi extended the lead in the 75th, and Evans Chisange wrapped up the win in the 77th minute. Andrew Phiri netted the only goal for MUZA in the 61st minute. This victory propelled Wanderers to seventh place. In Lusaka, defending champions Red Arrows secured a 3-2 win over Power Dynamos at Nkoloma Stadium in a tightly-contested encounter. Angel Lubamba’s 32nd-minute strike, Derrick Bulaya’s goal in the 76th, and Ciel Ebengo’s dramatic 93rd-minute winner sealed the victory for Arrows. Power replied through John Soko (64’) and Owen Tembo (87’). The win lifted Arrows to third place, while Power remained in sixth. “Magnificent” Kabwe Warriors claimed a 1-0 away win against “Brave” Nchanga Rangers in Chingola, with Charles Sichilima scoring the only goal of the match in the 20th minute. The victory pushed Warriors into second place, just behind Nkana, while Nchanga dropped to 13th. In other fixtures, Forest Rangers won 2-0 over struggling Zanaco in Ndola at Dola Hill, with goals from Quadri Kola and Benson Chilala.
