REVIEW CDF LOAN SYSTEM
By HOPE MUSONDA
Democratic Union (DU) Party President Ackhim Anthony Njobvu has called for the restructuring of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) loaning system to enhance accountability and transparency.
Speaking during a radio program in Lusaka yesterday, Mr. Njobvu said the current system requires urgent review to ensure that funds reach deserving beneficiaries and that repayment mechanisms are strengthened.
He expressed concern that some CDF loans are being disbursed to individuals who are difficult to trace, making recovery of funds a major challenge.
“We need proper management of public funds. There should be mechanisms to ensure that beneficiaries can be tracked and loans are repaid,” Mr. Njobvu said.
The opposition leader emphasized that effective management of public resources is essential for achieving national development goals and maintaining public trust in government institutions.
Mr. Njobvu further urged Zambians to critically assess the government’s performance as the 2026 general elections approach, stating that the country’s progress depends on strong, accountable, and transparent leadership.
